Funnies on Friday

Have a great weekend!!

Puuuurrrrssssssssssssss

Chance

Pee Ess: Shadow will not let me come near him right now. Mommie said it is because of his itchies. She has been keeping us seperated when she is not home because Shadow is very irritated right now and me whapping him makes him mad. Mommie says that Shadow was born with Allergic Dermatitis. It is common, it can be lifelong, it is a challenge to diagnose, and once identified it can be resistant to attempts at treatment. Pretty much it means that at certain times of the year, Shadows skin gets very dried out, very irritated, and there is very little that can be done for him. Mommie will give him baths with medicated shampoos and a new flea collar (just in case). The V-E-T will even give him a shot of allergy medicine. But Shadow still chews and chews till he has little bald spots on his tocks. This makes him very unhappy (and who can blame him) and he does not like to be touched by anyone or anything because it makes him itchy all over again. Sometimes an increase in fatty acids helps, but not always. Mommie is going to the pet store today to get some DermCaps for him to see if they will help or if we have to just cope for the next month with this. In the meantime, Shadow will not be posting pictures on my bloggie as he is embarrassed by his baldness. Please send him some puurrsss that the fatty acids help him and stop his itchy sufferring.

Hi - my understandings go out to you & shadow.
We have to use unscented litter because any scented stuff makes Spooker have itchy skin.

When we tried to use a flea collar on her once, she got a big allergic reaction - now we can only use a half-does of Frontline on her at a time.

There is a product from Garden's Alive called Pets Alive -- go to www.gardensalive.com and click on pet care in the side bar -- it's a supplement that you put on the pets food. When Spooker had her allergy itchy skin breakout, the stuff from the vet didn't work. But we used Pets Alive for about six months, and it cured her itchy skin.
I love Gardens Alive products, and have never had any problems with any of their items - their fertilizers and stuff are great, and EscarGo is my favorite gardening item ever - but Pets Alive really does work.

Just a suggestion to help Shadow.
Let me know if you have any other questions about it.

Not the Mama

Poor Shadow! I know you two love each other and this is hard! Chance, come play with me and we can wrestle and groom all we like.

Mom especially likes that OCD cat person LOLcat! Our boy is a little OCD but very messy, so no sorting cats.
Purrs and sandpaper kisses!

Shadow, I too have this problem around this time of year and I go bald around my head. I know how very disrupting to life it can be and I sympathize. My mom got me some Halo Dream Coat and it seems to have stopped the hair loss and itching. It has omega fatty acids in it. There are also lots of great products at onlynaturalpet dot com. Best of luck to you Shadow and we all hope you stop itching real soon!!

I am very sorry that Shadow is not feeling well. He should not be embarrassed by some bald spots, because we love him no matter what he looks like.

Shadow, Don't you be embarrassed. Lots of males get bald spots. On humans, they're permanent, but yours will grown back in. Buddy has allergies too, so he can understand how you feel. He gets grumpy too.

Merci

Poor Shadow. Itching is horrible and I although I don't usually use the "V" word - could the VET do anyfink else to help?
Give a Shadow a big ((((((hug)))))) from me and Mom and tell him we hopes he feels better soon. Maybe a nice juicy bone would distract him.
