Wordy Wednesday

First I want to tell a little story about a tiny little girl kitty and her first trip to the V-E-T.
Little Imp lived a tough short life. Worms in her tummy and yucky bugs in her ears was a normal part of her life. Until one day, someone put her into a box and took her to some unknown place. Cold and alone she sat in the box waiting for something. Not knowing what exactly.

Then, finally someone picked up the box and opened it to see what was inside. Sticking her brave little head out of the opening she let out a tiny meow. A nice lady was looking at her with surprise. She was then taken into a nice warm house and given yummy food and fresh water. After eating her heart out, she snuggled with the nice lady and gave her a purr of thanks.

The nice lady left for a little bit and came home with a new litterbox and a special girly collar for the tiny kitty. She said to the kitty that she never had to worry again because she has found a forever home. She would have food and water whenever you want and a brother kitty to play with. And a woofie brother to protect her from all scary things. But before she could meet them she needed to go see the V-E-T. So one day the nice lady did not get up in the morning to feed her and she started to worry. When the lady finally got up she still did not feed the kitty and with the tiniest of mews she reminded the lady that she was hungry. Nice lady pulled her out of her confinement cell and put her in a tiny little box with a gate on the front and holes in the side. She was taking the girl kitty somewhere and the little girl was scared. What if the nice lady decided she didn't want to keep her after all. What if she was taking her somewhere to give her away? The little girl kitty cried and cried for a long time while they drove to an unknown location. When the nice lady pulled her box out of the moving machine, they were at a place that smelled really funny. A lady came out and talked to the girl kitty while she asked the nice lady a bunch of questions. Then they went into this bright room with a very cold table and the girl kitty was let out of her box. They put things in her ears and cleaned out the itchy ear mites. They put medicine down her throat that they said would get rid of her wormies. They took some of her blood out of her leg and said they would run some tests. The tests all said she was a very healthy kitty and she could finally meet her new brothers. Then they started poking her with sharp things and feeling her belly. Uh-Oh, her belly has bumps in it! What does that mean? Is it the wormies that are making the bumps? No, it's baby kitties inside her belly. She is going to be a Momma kitty pretty soon. Now the nice lady will not want to take her back home for sure. She knows it. She sits and meows quietly with sadness. She liked the nice lady and wanted to stay with her forever. But even the nice lady may not want to care for her and her babies too. She will surely never take her home now. The nice lady picked her up and gave her some hugs and scritches. Then, amazingly, she put her back into the transport box with the cage on the front and the holes in the sides. They drove and drove and finally they got back to the nice warm house. She was carried back inside and the door was left open for her. When she slowly walked out of that box she came face to face with her new kitty brother. He gave her a good whap on the head and then ran off as if to say chase me. She ran after him and gave him a good whap back and off they went. Running and playing for an hour. She couldn't remember ever having as much fun! She went up to the nice lady and climbed up on her lap. She gave the loudest happiest purr she could find as if to say Thank You for giving me a home and a family. She settled down on the nice lady for a nap and realized she would never have to worry about anything again.

Thursday Thirteen

Today I give you 13 random things. Some are responses to comments and others are just things that are going on in our house.

1. Yes, Little Imp is VERY tiny. But she is getting bigger now that she has a warm bed and a constant supply of the crunchies. Plus she eats a whole can of stinky goodness everyday!

2. We each have our very own water bowls throughout the house. We just all prefer to drink from Shadows big one.

3. Shadow is still a conehead (hehehe, conehead). Mommie just gives him a break from it every night after he gets his special medicines. It's his favourite part of the day. Well aside from when its time for walkies.

4. I am still not a huge fan of that girl. I am ignoring the door between us now and not trying at all to get in when my Mommie goes in there. I just sit there and wait until Mommie comes back to give me loves.

5. Nina, I could never forget about you. I think you are very very beautiful and that little girl in my house is just an intruder. Mommie says she will be my sister, but I'm still deciding on that.

6. Little Imp could realy curl up into anything she is soo small. She goes in all the places I used to go (behind furniture and stuff) before I became a bulked up Man-Cat.

7. Shadow and I still get to sleep on the big bed every night with Mommie. That girl is still not allowed in the bed and I hope it stays that way. Shadow is a bed hog and there is barely enough room for me. Mommie squeezes in there somewhere too.

8. We got some really cool awards in the past two weeks that Mommy has been slacking on. We hope to get them posted up sometime soon. We do appreciate all the awards and are very grateful. Mommie is just lazy/busy.

9. Mommie wants to thank everyone who sent good thoughts and congrats on her new job position. It was a very sudden decision by the big wigs in the company, but she loves it.

10. Little Imp has ear mites, but Mommie got some medicines for her and she is already scratching less. Except everytime Mommie gives her the ear drops, she rubs her face (and the medicines that leaked out) all over Mommie. I think this is a very ingenous way to get revenge on the Mommie.

11. Everyday Mommie checks my ears and my litterbox to make sure I didn't catch anthing from the intruder. Even though we are still seperated, Mommie still worries.

12. Mommie is making me go to the V-E-T. She said its just a precaution to check my stress levels and stuff. Plus its time for the stabby things again. I think I will take a page out of my brother Hendrix's book and bite the V-E-T this time. That will teach them to stabby me.

13. I have stopped burying my, umm, poops. I used to just dig dig dig all the way to China whenever I used my box. Ever since that intruder girl came here I stopped digging. Has anyone else ever done this when an intruder invaded? Mommie thinks it might be a teritorial thing, but I'm not telling. Besides, it makes her worry about me and that means I get extra cuddles. I got nothing against extra cuddles.

Okay, now that that is done, I'm off to visit with Nina and play in her spiffy tunnel. Maybe even convince Victor to play THOE with us. Oh and Mommie made me a peace globe, but she cannot remember where she saved it so I guess I cant post a cool globe photo like everyone else. But I can still blog for peace.

Funny Friday

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha Hahahahahahahahahahahaha
Hahahahahahahahahahahaha
Hahahahahahahahahahahaha

Shadow has to wear a huge plastic collar now to keep him from chewing. The V-E-T told Mommie that Shadows itchies should all be gone and the underlying problem is gone (for now), but the healing itches a bit. So in order to let the boo boo heal and the hair grow back, Mommie had to put this collar on to keep Shadow from aggravating the spot. He's walking in to walls and when he puts his head down he gets stuck so he just stops moving till Mommie rescues him. Its more entertaining than the smell of the intruder. Plus you can whap him on the butt and he cant see you. It's Awesome!

Have a great weekend!

Thinking on Thursday

Did you enter your funny picture for Funny Picture Friday yet? Better hurry up.

Quick Update from Mommie: Chance has finally stopped hissing and growling at the door where Imp is locked up. Instead he runs head first into the door. I've put a pillow on the floor to keep him from hurting himself. Not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed, but he's my baby.

TUXIE Tuesday

INTRUDER!! Okay so I have smelled her on your shirt and I can hear her meow from under the door. I know there is an intruder in there Mommie. And just because last night I sniffed her on your clothes for a squillion hours without a fuss does not mean I am not mad at you anymore about this. She just better not steal my lap time with you. Or my food. Or my toys. She can have the stupid dog. He just wants to slobber all over me anyway.Oh and you better remember, it's TUXIE Tuesday, not Tortie Tuesday. Just sayin.....

Update from Mommie: Last night I got a call from the clinic and we scheduled Little Imp for an appointment on Nov 11 for a full wellness check-up. They will not schedule the surgery until they look at her and determine her age and health. From her size I would guess she is about 2 to 3 months, but she is so undernurished and tiny she could be a little bit older. The low cost clinic will not perform the surgery on her until she is 4 months or older.

Last night I spent some time with her and she is just a sweet little girl. She loves to cuddle and get her scritches, but she is unsure about toys. I gave her a few little bitey mice from Chance's new toy stash and she just sort of sniffed them. I gave her one of the extra squiggles and waved it around for her, but she just looked at me like I was crazy. I did get a reaction out of her with a catnip nanner. A few face rubs and bunnykicks and that was all.

I wonder if she was a stray that someone was taking care of (she trusts people and loves them so she has to have been socialized) and now they can't take care of her anymore. Or maybe she was an outdoor pet for the summer and with the colder weather coming the owners couldn't provide for her outdoor needs. I'm just grasping at straws here as to were she came from and why the sweet little imp doesn't understand toys or playtime but knows the affection of a human. Hopefully Chance will be willing to teach her a little once he stops being so hissy. He has already calmed down a little bit and is just sitting at the door sniffing under the crack for her. The hissing has stopped but he is still growling under the door every now and then. I think now he is more upset that he has been locked out of a room than the fact that she is here. At least that's what I am hoping. I would really love to keep her, but Chance was here first and it is his home too. He has a say in who stays and who goes. If he doesn't want her to stay we will have to find her another home. But we will worry about that when the time to decide comes.

Lastly, I want to Thank You all again for caring about this little girl. Your thoughts and purrss and advice restored my faith in humans and reminded me that not all people would have treated Little Imp as poorly as she had been. You hear soo much negativity about the way people treat animals that you forget sometimes there are still good decent people in the world. And I am pretty sure those wonderful people are all part of the Catblogosphere. Or at least the best of those people are. The rest just don't have computers. **Huge Hugs**

A Cry for Help

**Update 3** WOW, I am speechless and truly touched right now. In less than 8 hours you all pulled together and already our goal has been reached! I have called the Humane Society and left a message for them to contact me so I can take Little Imp in for an appointment. Hopefully they will give me a call back tonight so we can get her in A.S.A.P. I will most definitely keep you all posted on her progress as best that I can. It's amazing to think that last night I was so worried about her future that I could not sleep and now I feel confident that she has a chance at a happy healthy life thanks to all of our friends at the blogosphere. Again from the bottom of my heart Thank You!

Nelle here: Last night when I got home I found this box on my front porch. When I opened it I heard this pitiful little mew and this sweet little face popped out.

Of course I brought the poor little girl into the warm house and made good with the stinky goodness. The poor thing is soo starved I was afraid she would make herself sick with how fast she ate. I had to pull her from the food a few times to slow her down.

When she stands up you can see her little ribs poking through and she feels so fragile and wraithlike my heart is bleeding for her. She is the sweetest little thing I have ever met and once she finished eating, she curled up right on my shoulder and purrred herself to sleep.

The problem is, with Shadows recent problem (and very expensive visit to the V-E-T) I just don't have the money to take her to see the V-E-T. She is going to need all her shots and of course she will need her ladygardenectomy. I have her and Chance seperated for now until I can get her in and he is not happy at all. All he did was smell her on my shirt and he hissed at me, growled and then ran off. I really just don't know what to do for her. I contacted our local no-kill shelters and no one has room for her right now. I refuse to take her to the shelter as I know they are already over-run and I fear they would put her to sleep. Plus I'm not sure I would want to give her up. I just don't know what to do. I can't keep her and Chance seperated for long, but it may be a month or two until I can get her in to see a V-E-T. I would appreciate any support or advice from the blogosphere right now.

Oh and in case you were wondering, I have been calling her The Little Imp.

**Update**

I added a PayPal Donate button on the top left of the blog to help towards her V-E-T expenses.

**Update 2**

For those of you who asked in the comments about low cost vaccination clinics for The Little Imp, our local shelter does provide them. They cost $38 for the general exan, $22 for the vaccinations, and $70 for female feline sterlization. For an extra $16 I could also have her microchipped during her sterilization, but I am concentrating on making sure she is healthy first. Check out the link if you would like to learn more about our Humane Society.

Funnies on Friday

Have a great weekend!!

Chance

Pee Ess: Shadow will not let me come near him right now. Mommie said it is because of his itchies. She has been keeping us seperated when she is not home because Shadow is very irritated right now and me whapping him makes him mad. Mommie says that Shadow was born with Allergic Dermatitis. It is common, it can be lifelong, it is a challenge to diagnose, and once identified it can be resistant to attempts at treatment. Pretty much it means that at certain times of the year, Shadows skin gets very dried out, very irritated, and there is very little that can be done for him. Mommie will give him baths with medicated shampoos and a new flea collar (just in case). The V-E-T will even give him a shot of allergy medicine. But Shadow still chews and chews till he has little bald spots on his tocks. This makes him very unhappy (and who can blame him) and he does not like to be touched by anyone or anything because it makes him itchy all over again. Sometimes an increase in fatty acids helps, but not always. Mommie is going to the pet store today to get some DermCaps for him to see if they will help or if we have to just cope for the next month with this. In the meantime, Shadow will not be posting pictures on my bloggie as he is embarrassed by his baldness. Please send him some puurrsss that the fatty acids help him and stop his itchy sufferring.

Man-Cat Monday

Yes, I am sleepin on Shadows pillow.

Yes, I made Shadow sleep on my blanky.

No Mommie, I do not find it funnies, just comfy.

Just a little funny to get your Monday going...

Three male dogs are walking down the street when they see a beautiful, enticing, female poodle.

The poodle, realizing all three males want her, decides to put them to a test. "The first one who can use the words 'liver' and 'cheese' together in an imaginative, intelligent sentence can go out with me."

The black lab quickly says, "I love liver and cheese."

"Oh, how childish," the poodle says. "That shows no imagination or intelligence whatsoever."

Then the golden retriever says, "I HATE liver and cheese!"

"My, my," says the poodle. "I guess it's hopeless. That's just as dumb as the lab's sentence."

She turns to the last of the three dogs, the cihuahua, and says, "How about you, little guy?"

"Cheese mine. Liver alone."

Another Award!

And this one is all mine!
The wonderful Camie gave me this award and I am so happy.
Thank you so much for being my friend. I would like to pass this one on to all those crazy woofies at Jan's funny farm. Buddy, Samaritan, and the Sweet Merci of course, this one is for you.

Woofs

Shadow

Pee Ess from Mommy: I just want to thank you all for your kind words and support over the loss of my friend. The past week has been a bit of a struggle for me and the boys as well. They are still getting used to me being gone more now that I am working two jobs. They have even begun to argue over who gets to sit on my lap when I get home. If Shadow claims my lap then Chance is right there whapping him on the head till Shadow gets mad enough to jump down. Then of course Chance stakes his claim on my lap until Shadow growls at him enough to disturb his nap and the cycle continues until bedtime. Of course while this is all going on I am pinned to the couch and out of reach of my camera, so no new pictures yet. Once they settle down a bit we will be back up and running as before.

Chance: MOOOM yur embawasin us. Iffen Nina fins owt how silly I am she willna wansta go to anymor parties wif me.

Shadow: Yea Mom! And how am I going to ask Merci to go walking with me if she is laughing at me for being a Mommas boy.

Mommy: Sorry boys. I will try not to embarrass you anymore. But I am sure the girls will not mind at all. They will think you are just sensitive. Girls like sensitive guys.

Chance: Geez Mommie yoo donna noe noffin bowt girls.

Shadow: Maybe you should just stick to your day hunting and bowling. Besides its not like you've had a date in like a squillion years.

Mommy: ALRIGHT, THAT'S ENOUGH! Aren't you two late for your midday naps?
