TUXIE Tuesday

INTRUDER!! Okay so I have smelled her on your shirt and I can hear her meow from under the door. I know there is an intruder in there Mommie. And just because last night I sniffed her on your clothes for a squillion hours without a fuss does not mean I am not mad at you anymore about this. She just better not steal my lap time with you. Or my food. Or my toys. She can have the stupid dog. He just wants to slobber all over me anyway.Oh and you better remember, it's TUXIE Tuesday, not Tortie Tuesday. Just sayin.....

Update from Mommie: Last night I got a call from the clinic and we scheduled Little Imp for an appointment on Nov 11 for a full wellness check-up. They will not schedule the surgery until they look at her and determine her age and health. From her size I would guess she is about 2 to 3 months, but she is so undernurished and tiny she could be a little bit older. The low cost clinic will not perform the surgery on her until she is 4 months or older.

Last night I spent some time with her and she is just a sweet little girl. She loves to cuddle and get her scritches, but she is unsure about toys. I gave her a few little bitey mice from Chance's new toy stash and she just sort of sniffed them. I gave her one of the extra squiggles and waved it around for her, but she just looked at me like I was crazy. I did get a reaction out of her with a catnip nanner. A few face rubs and bunnykicks and that was all.

I wonder if she was a stray that someone was taking care of (she trusts people and loves them so she has to have been socialized) and now they can't take care of her anymore. Or maybe she was an outdoor pet for the summer and with the colder weather coming the owners couldn't provide for her outdoor needs. I'm just grasping at straws here as to were she came from and why the sweet little imp doesn't understand toys or playtime but knows the affection of a human. Hopefully Chance will be willing to teach her a little once he stops being so hissy. He has already calmed down a little bit and is just sitting at the door sniffing under the crack for her. The hissing has stopped but he is still growling under the door every now and then. I think now he is more upset that he has been locked out of a room than the fact that she is here. At least that's what I am hoping. I would really love to keep her, but Chance was here first and it is his home too. He has a say in who stays and who goes. If he doesn't want her to stay we will have to find her another home. But we will worry about that when the time to decide comes.

Lastly, I want to Thank You all again for caring about this little girl. Your thoughts and purrss and advice restored my faith in humans and reminded me that not all people would have treated Little Imp as poorly as she had been. You hear soo much negativity about the way people treat animals that you forget sometimes there are still good decent people in the world. And I am pretty sure those wonderful people are all part of the Catblogosphere. Or at least the best of those people are. The rest just don't have computers. **Huge Hugs**

Mom says she looks more like 6 or 7 months old rather than 2-3. We iz only 4 months old and Mom finks Little Imp looks a lot bigger than us, but she sez it's hard to tell in the picshurs.

We hope effurything turns out well with Impie.

Yeah we thought she looked older too, but it is hard to tell in pictures. Oh we just know Chance will come around and probably end up enjoying having a kitten to play with. It might take a while, like at our house Georgia is still not able to be left unsupervised with Zoe and Indy, but she just gets her own room when nobody is home. We figure it'll just take about a year of patience. But she is older, and was injured and picked on by other cats. Chance has a safe comfortable home and we're sure he'll get used to her before too long.

Even tho she seems comfterbul, she may not be ready to play. Wif Nina, it wasn't until we tried the red dot and toys on strings (Da Bird) that she started really playing. Too bad she can't see a vet sooner! (I can't belief I said that!) Ours always seems to have room to see us wifin a day or 2 at mostest.

Oh Chance, it will be ok! Victor and I share our beans and play together and it's so much fun!
Purrs and sandpaper kisses, Nina

At our local shelter, they will do spays if the kitten is at least 3 pounds (and healthy, of course). I'll bet Chance would really love to have a companion, once he gets used to her!

Little Imp is beautiful :-) I'm sorry someone dumped her at your doorstep but they obviously felt you'd take her in. So that's good, I guess.

I hope she is healthy (keep them separated until you get tests done) and that Chance is willing to have a new furry sibling.

Yup, she looks about the age of some of the ferals at our Lady's mom's house - 6 or 7 months or so. Kittens usually adjust well with adult kitties. So, unless Chance is like Grr, you should be fine. Grr adjusts to no one.

Did you check her teeth? You can tell how old by teeth! if you have all adult teeth you're at least 5-6 months!

I hope Little Imp can get into the vet soon to get healthy and that Chance will come to love her! I know it would be really tough if my mom tried to bring another kitty in my house because it has been just me and mom for 13 years.

If she reacted to catnip, she is probably at least 6 months old. Kittens younger than that usually do not react.
You are wonderful for helping her!
I bet Chance will come around with time!
